Elderly patient with gangrene of the great toe for one month. Despite controlled blood sugar, antibiotics and dressings, the lesion failed to heal. Angiography revealed severe stenosis of proximal anterior tibial artery.

Balloon angioplasty restored blood flow. Gangrenous toe healed gradually. No amputation required.

Case 02

Stenting of Posterior Tibial Artery

70-year-old diabetic gentleman with severe calf claudication. Posterior tibial artery pulse absent. Failed medical therapy. Underwent angioplasty with medicated stent placement.

Excellent distal flow restored. Walking distance improved to 2 km/day. Sustained improvement at 6 months.
